The aim of the Iowa Equine Success Veterinary Internship is to prepare recent
graduates for a long and successful career in general practice. Our veterinary interns are exposed to a diverse range of cases and horses in a variety of disciplines beginning with one-on-one mentorship and progressing to independent case management at the conclusion of the internship. Iowa Equine veterinarians are passionate about the reality of long, happy, successful careers in equine practice and will provide guidance in practice management strategies, staff development, and practice financial literacy. Your internship is the first step of a practice journey that could take you anywhere!

An immersive externship is for students enrolled in a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine program. Join us at Iowa Equine for an externship to learn more about equine medicine and practice ownership!

Externships are available February through November for up to 2 weeks at a time.
